You can bring your own project from home, learn the techniques needed to upholster it and build your skills as you go along, project by project. These day sessions are for students with lots of enthusiasm but little time. They are suitable for complete beginners or for intermediate students who are developing their skills level. The one day upholstery sessions run through the year and students can book for multiple days to continue building skills and to work on more complex projects.
Just bring your project, and a camera to make a record of your work.
Suitable projects
For a beginner, A sprung seat, footstool, drop in dining seats or a standard headboard all make excellent projects. If you have a project in mind, send a photo and we can advise you about skills level and suitability. We’ll also be able to indicate how long it’s likely to take and if you’ll need more than one block.
You will have your own workbench with tools for use during club sessions. All sundry upholstery materials are available from the workshop and you can also order from our wide range of fabrics.
When?
One day upholstery sessions run Mon-Thu throughout the year 9:30am-4:15pm. Join us for a day or book a block and refurnish your home. Cost per day £105 plus materials.
