One-Week Workshop
This one-week intensive workshop is designed to introduce you to the tools, techniques and materials of traditional upholstery, in a fun and relaxing environment. By the end of the week, you’ll leave with a beautiful new piece of furniture you can show off to your friends and family.

Your Own Personal Project
We celebrate each student’s individuality and creative flair, which is why students on these courses don’t produce the same pieces. Instead, they get to choose exactly what they want to work on.
In our one-week course, we invite you to ‘bring your own project’. You pick the piece of furniture and the fabrics you love, and we’ll provide you with the tools and knowledge to create your dream piece. Our students go home having crafted something they can be proud of, which will last for generations to come.
All Levels and Experience
Our one-week intensive course is suitable for all levels of experience. Our class sizes are small (a maximum of five students per class), so you’ll receive plenty of time with our proficient tutor to develop your skills and know-how.
Our tutors will guide you through every aspect of your personal project, giving you the skills that form the foundations of upholstery. So, not only will you leave us with a beautiful new piece of furniture for your home or portfolio, you’ll also have the necessary skills to continue your craft at home.
But beware! Upholstery is an addictive hobby. Once family and friends see the wonderful things you can do, you’ll have an endless amount of projects!
What Furniture Do I Need to Bring?
We’re very flexible with what you can bring with you to our one-week course. For this course, you can bring a traditionally upholstered or modern project. The choice is entirely yours.
We suggest you bring a sprung dining chair with a picture back for a traditional piece or a small fireside chair without arms for a modern project.
But don’t worry, if you have something specific in mind then just let us know. Contact us on via email on info@oxfordschoolofupholstery.com and feel free to send us pictures of the piece if you wish. Alternatively, give us a call on 01865 872121 and we can advise whether your piece is suitable.
When Does the Course Run?
The course runs Mon-Thurs from 9am-5pm, the cost is £420 plus materials. The maximum class size for each course is seven, making it the perfect activity to do with friends.

What if I don’t have a piece of furniture?
We can help you source a particular piece of furniture. We also offer fabric to our students at a 10% discount from the retail price.
