You can bring your own project from home, learn the techniques needed to upholster it and build your skills as you go along, project by project. This course is for students with lots of enthusiasm but little time. It’s suitable for complete beginners or for intermediate students who are developing their skills level. The 5 week clubs run through the year during term time and students can book for multiple rolling clubs to continue building skills and to work on more complex projects.
Just bring your project, and a camera to make a record of your work.
Suitable projects
For a beginner, A sprung seat, footstool, drop in dining seats or a standard headboard all make excellent projects. We can also supply an ottoman style bench with a choice of legs, simple cocktail chairs and cylindrical stools. If you have a project in mind, send a photo and we can advise you about skills level and suitability. We’ll also be able to indicate how long it’s likely to take and if you’ll need more than one block.
You will have your own workbench with tools for use during club sessions. All sundry upholstery materials are available from the workshop and you can also order from our wide range of fabrics.
When?
Friday Club runs for 5 weeks - 9:30am-1:00pm on Fridays Join us for one block of 5 or book them all and refurnish your home, cost for 5 week block £275 plus materials.
